2019-02-11/12 : an amazing very narrow track in the forest and the adventurous crossing of the Bafing river by a worrisome railway bridge.
What track are we talking about? It is this "tourist" route marked in green on the Michelin map of North and West Africa in the very South-West of Mali, and that I marked in red below:
On the map it seems to be an important communication road between Kéniéba and Bafoulabé. On the terrain it looks different !
Good track at the beginning, deteriorating more and more while advancing towards the North.
| Good track between Kéniéba and Kayes (in the first part) |
| Lunch break |
| The track ist still rather good |
| It's seem to become a little more complicated! |
| Is this really the right way ? |
| Crossing somme isomated villages on the track |
| and still this grueling track ! |
| Our bivouac for the night |
| Inthe village of Djimekourou it's a party when the "white man" comes ! |
| Tyre torn by a stump |
| Scenic landscapes along the track |
| And again some more villages to be crossed |
| Over the Bafing by the railway bridge in Mahinda |
