Kenieba - Mahina, Mali

2019-02-11/12 : an amazing very narrow track in the forest and the adventurous crossing of the Bafing river by a worrisome railway bridge.

What track are we talking about? It is this "tourist" route marked in green on the Michelin map of North and West Africa in the very South-West of Mali, and that I marked in red below:

On the map it seems to be an important communication road between Kéniéba and Bafoulabé. On the terrain it looks different !
Good track at the beginning, deteriorating more and more while advancing towards the North.

Good track between Kéniéba and Kayes (in the first part)

Lunch break

The track ist still rather good

It's seem to become a little more complicated!

Is this really the right way ?

Crossing somme isomated villages on the track

and still this grueling track !

Our bivouac for the night

Inthe village of Djimekourou it's a party when the "white man" comes !

Tyre torn by a stump

Scenic landscapes along the track

And again some more villages to be crossed

Over the Bafing by the railway bridge in Mahinda
