The farewell tour continues. Here we are at one of my "Marseilles" cousins. We spend two beautiful days, one of geocaching on the Colline Saint-Jacques above the city. Another nice walk under a big and hot sun. Nature, panoramas, caves - "baumes" in Provençal, an old quarry and of course a good harvest of geocaches.

The "Grande Baume" is one of the many caves that can be discovered on Saint-Jacques hill. The hill seems to have been used by our ancestors as a habitat area since the end of the Neolithic period (3500-2300 BC). Many remains of this period were found (arrowheads, flint blades, etc ...) but no specific trace of habitation.

La tournée des
adieux continue. Nous voici chez une de mes cousines
« marseillaises ». Nous y passons deux belles journées dont une de
géocaching sur la colline Saint-Jacques au-dessus de la ville. Encore une belle
balade sous un grand et chaud soleil. De la nature, des panoramas, des grottes -
des « baumes » en provençal-, une ancienne carrière et bien sûr une
bonne moisson de géocaches.
La « Grande
Baume » est une des nombreuses grottes que l’on peut découvrir sur la
colline Saint-Jacques. La colline semble avoir été utilisée par nos ancêtres
comme zone d’habitat dès la fin du néolithique (3500- 2300 avant Jésus Christ).
De nombreux vestiges de cette époque y ont été trouvés (pointes de flèches,
lames de silex, etc…) mais pas de trace précise d’habitation.

Die Abschiedstour geht weiter. Hier sind wir bei einer meiner "Marseilles" Cousines. Wir verbringen zwei schöne Tage, davon einen bei Geocaching auf der Colline Saint-Jacques über der Stadt. Ein weiterer schöner Spaziergang unter einer großen und heißen Sonne. Natur, Panoramen, Höhlen - "Baumes" in Provençal, ein alter Steinbruch und natürlich eine gute Ernte von Geocaches.
Die "Grande Baume" ist eine der vielen Höhlen, die man auf dem Hügel Saint-Jacques entdecken kann. Der Hügel scheint seit dem Ende der Jungsteinzeit (3500-2300 v. Chr.) Von unseren Vorfahren als Lebensraum genutzt worden zu sein. Viele Überreste aus dieser Zeit wurden gefunden (Pfeilspitzen, Feuersteinklingen, etc ...), aber keine spezifische Spur von Besiedlung.
