Fourcade is a place on the outskirts of the big village of Rieux-de-Pelleport.
Our visit to Fourcade today with my father has a very personal character. This is a kind of little pilgrimage to a place that has been very important to him and a little to me. It was here in the farm where his grandfather lived that my father spent the years 1941/1942 during the 2nd World War and where he also often went on vacation from the late 40s to the early 60s of last century.

The Ariege is a department with unique nature on the flanks of the Pyrenees, sparsely populated, with beautiful landscapes, sparse towns and picturesque villages and steeped in history and enjoys a very pleasant climate. We will come back later after our world tour ....

Fourcade est un lieu-dit à la périphérie du gros bourg de Rieux-de-Pelleport.
Notre visite à Fourcade aujourd’hui avec mon père a un caractère très personnel. Il s’agit d’une sorte de petit pèlerinage dans un lieu qui a beaucoup compté pour lui et aussi un peu pour moi. C’est ici dans la ferme où vivait son grand père que mon père a passé les années 1941 / 1942 pendant la 2ème guère mondiale et où il est aussi souvent revenu en vacances de la fin des années 40 jusqu’au début des années 60 du siècle dernier.
L’Ariège est un département à la nature unique sur les flancs des Pyrénées, peu peuplé, aux paysages superbes, clairsemé de villes et villages pittoresques et chargés d’histoire et qui jouit d’un très agréable climat. Nous y reviendrons plus longtemps après notre tour du monde ….

Fourcade ist ein Weiher am Rande des großen Dorfes Rieux-de-Pelleport.
Unser Besuch in Fourcade heute mit meinem Vater hat einen sehr persönlichen Charakter. Dies ist eine Art kleine Wallfahrt zu einem Ort, der für ihn sehr wichtig und für mich ein wenig war. Hier auf dem Bauernhof, wo sein Großvater lebte, verbrachte mein Vater die Jahre 1941/42 im 2. Weltkrieg und von den späten 40ern bis in die frühen 60er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts fuhr er oft in den Urlaub hierher.
Die Ariège ist eine Departement mit einzigartiger Natur an den Flanken der Pyrenäen, dünn besiedelt, mit schönen Landschaften, spärlichen malerischen geschichtsträchtigen Städten und Dörfern und genießt ein sehr angenehmes Klima. Wir werden nach unserer Weltreise wieder kommen und länger bleiben ....
